Statement about Charity Commission Warning (Date: 27 February 2024)

 

Abdullah Aid acknowledges the Charity Commission's warning which has been published for the next 12 months regarding the appointment of a Trustee as Chief Executive without the Commissions prior permission. We regret this procedural error, which occurred during a phase of rapid growth in 2018 and are committed to rectifying the resulting non-compliance and preventing future occurrences.

 

Key actions taken include:

• Strengthening our Board with legal and governance experts.
  
• Implementing comprehensive trustee training on compliance and best practice.
  
• Conducting an external organisational review.
  
• Strategic leadership enhancements, including my role to ensure compliance standards.
